But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, (2 Timothy 3:14,NIV)

》 About Poland
Poland began in 966 when Mieszko I unified various tribes and converted to Catholicism. It became a kingdom in 1025 and grew into the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth in 1569, once one of Europe’s most powerful nations. In the 18th century, it fell under the control of Russia, Prussia, and Austria. Although it regained independence in 1918, it was occupied by Nazi Germany during World War II, resulting in the deaths of 6 million people. After the war, it became a communist state under Soviet influence, but in 1989, the Solidarity movement led a democratic transition. Today, Poland is a member of the EU and a major political and economic power in Eastern Europe. Karol Nawrocki was elected president in 2025. Donald Tusk has served as prime minister since 2023.
Poland has the sixth-largest economy in the EU and is known for its stable macroeconomic policies and business-friendly environment. Massive foreign aid was instrumental in driving Poland’s economic reforms in the 1990s. Key industries include petrochemicals, machinery, electronics, automotive, and shipbuilding. In recent years, it has focused on developing its IT and startup sectors. While it is emerging as a logistics hub, it still faces challenges such as population decline and the emigration of young, educated workers.
Poland’s GDP per capita is approximately $25,022.
》 Scripture Focus
| 2 Timothy 3:5, 10-17(NIV) 5 Having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people. 10 You, however, know all about my teaching, my way of life, my purpose, faith, patience, love, endurance, 11 persecutions, sufferings—what kinds of things happened to me in Antioch, Iconium and Lystra, the persecutions I endured. Yet the Lord rescued me from all of them. 12 In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, 13 while evildoers and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, 15 and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. |
》 Prayer Points
1. 85% of Poles are Catholic. For centuries, the Catholic Church helped preserve national identity during the periods of Russian imperialism and Soviet communism. Today, however, Mass attendance is low. Marian worship is widespread, with over 500 Black Madonna shrines across the country. Superstition and corruption among clergy have caused many, especially young people, drift away from the church.
Churches have been divided but now seek unity through the Polish Evangelical Alliance and the Ecumenical Council. Bible schools face declining enrollment and a shortage of leaders.
Let us pray for the Polish church to recover the power of godliness, to be renewed in its passion for the gospel, and to unite in fulfilling its mission in these last days.
2. Foreign missionaries continue serving in Poland, training leaders and making disciples. 90% of rural areas have no evangelical church. Ministries like Proecclesia, Proem, Life and Mission, IM, ECM, and Baptist churches are active in these regions, working with local churches. Though few missionaries are sent from within Poland, the Biblical Missions Association is training and sending cross-cultural workers.
Let us pray for faithful servants to rise up like Paul—full of love, patience, and endurance—to proclaim Christ and take the gospel to the nations.
3. False teachings like Jehovah’s Witnesses, New Age, witchcraft, and Korean cults are deceiving Catholic believers. At the same time, millions of Polish emigrants in Europe are encountering the gospel in more open environments. Let us pray for protection against deception, and for emigrants to receive the gospel and bring it back to Poland. 25% of the population is under the age of 24. While many in this generation are responding to the gospel, they are also influenced by secularism and materialism. CEF, SU, CCC, and IFES are sharing the gospel with children and students. Let us pray for the young generation to know Christ, grow in His Word, and be equipped for every good work.
