[World] 90,000 Bibles Provided to Children with Disabilities in Asia and Africa

“Every good and perfect gift is from the Father of the heavenly lights.”

Two international Christian ministries have joined forces to distribute over 87,000 Bibles translated into 22 languages to families of children with disabilities in Africa and the Philippines. CURE International, a nonprofit organization providing free surgical care to children, recently partnered with Biblica, a global Bible ministry, to launch a project valued at £400,000.

Through this initiative, CURE’s eight hospitals in Africa and the Philippines will provide Bibles in patients’ native languages to children receiving treatment and their families. Since its founding in 1996, CURE International has performed over 330,000 surgeries for children with conditions such as spina bifida and hydrocephalus, and has shared the gospel with more than 2.1 million people.

Justin Narducci, CEO of CURE International, said, “Our mission is rooted in Luke 9:2, where Jesus gave His disciples the command to ‘proclaim the kingdom of God and heal the sick.’ Jesus not only brought physical healing but also offered spiritual transformation.”

“Across our network, 60 surgeons perform operations every day, many of which involve complex disabilities,” he continued. “This is part of our gospel witness—delivering excellent medical care to children who otherwise would not have access to it.”

CURE’s ministry director emphasized, “The Bible is the greatest gift we can give our patients. We support children not just through medical treatment but also by offering Bible studies and connecting them with local churches, helping them begin a journey toward Christ.”

He added, “Having a Bible in their own language will be a practical and powerful support for these children’s faith. In some communities, disabilities are still viewed as a curse—but the gospel has the power to transform such beliefs.”

Jeff Morin, president of Biblica, said, “We seek to be the hands and feet of Jesus, bringing the life-changing Word of God to those in need.” He added, “We pray that the Bible brings the comfort and hope of Jesus to children and families who long for God’s love and healing.” (Source: Christian Today)

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. (James 1:17)

God, thank You for opening the way to deliver the living Word of God and physical healing to children with disabilities and their families in Africa and the Philippines. May the gospel of Your Son, who broke the curse and power of death through the cross and made us Your blessed children, become daily comfort and strength to those suffering in weakness. Raise them up as witnesses who share Your unchanging Word, full of every good and perfect gift from above, and let Your glory be revealed throughout Asia, Africa, and all nations.
