Gospel Prayer Alliance Code of Conduct
Gospel Prayer Alliance Code of Conduct
Despite the fierce resistance of the world, the Kingdom of God continues to march boldly toward the Day of the Lord. As evil reveals itself through lies and injustice, the Lord’s witnesses are being refined like pure gold. What makes this possible is the complete and powerful life of the gospel, which is the answer to every situation. Even under the threat of Satan, ruler of this dark world, the Church has been firmly established as the holy bride and army of Christ, just as our faithful Lord promised. We confess that the Church—the body of Jesus Christ—is one body, united in the gospel and prayer. Why must we unite? Because we are at war. War calls for alliances, and soldiers must know where they belong. The reason this united front is not yet visible is because many do not realize that we are in a time of war. Every challenge the Church faces today is a God-given opportunity to return to the gospel and renew our covenant. The Gospel Prayer Alliance Declaration captures the values of the gospel that Christians—called as soldiers of Christ—must boldly proclaim in this generation. Those who participate in this declaration will recognize their true identity and spiritual allegiance. They will also be called to adhere to a lifestyle and code of conduct worthy of that identity. The essence of the bride is purity, and the essence of the soldier is war. Now is the time to respond to the call of the Lamb—to join the battle as His bride and as faithful soldiers, with a clear sense of identity and loyalty. The battle continues. Let us stand in formation before the Lord, the Commander of the army, and obey His next order.
[Gospel Prayer Alliance Code of Conduct]
We proclaim that we are members of the Gospel Prayer Alliance, confessing that “the gospel and prayer are the only guiding principles of life for Christians. This is our renewed commitment to return to God.
Now, we present the specific principles of this code of conduct.
[About Worship]
We worship the triune God alone, as true worshipers He seeks—through the gospel of truth fully revealed on the cross and by the Holy Spirit, who continually illuminates that gospel upon us.
》 Prayer Points
1. He called us—who once loved our corrupted selves and worshiped Satan in our sins and transgressions—to worship the eternal God in Christ through a complete and holistic gospel. Let us determine to be worshipers who honor and rejoice in the Lord’s reign and sovereignty in every situation and field of life.
God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.(John 4:24,NIV)
[About the Gospel]
We continue to stand before the complete and holistic gospel of the cross revealed in Scripture so that all nations may trust and obey, and we glorify the gospel by enjoying and proclaiming it.
》 Prayer Points
2. Let us repent for making excuses and justifications for not experiencing the power of the gospel, and for trying to revise or improve it. As we did when we first believed, let us always stand before the gospel of the cross and live as witnesses who glorify the gospel by sharing the blessing we have personally experienced.
Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.(Revelation 1:3,NIV)
[About Prayer]
As priests with a ministry of reconciliation, we approach our set times of prayer each day to seek the kingdom of God and His will for revival of His Kingdom and the completion of missions.
》 Prayer Points
3. Prayer is the only way to live out the gospel. Yet today, many misunderstand prayer, treating it merely as a tool for fulfillment of their desires or solution to their problems. If this keeps us from tasting the joy of God’s power and glory, let us repent. As heirs of Jesus Christ, let us commit ourselves to continuous, chained, united, and focused prayer to see God’s kingdom come to all nations.
6 I have posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night. You who call on the Lord, give yourselves no rest, 7 and give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth.(Isaiah 62:6-7,NIV)
[About the Union]
As the universal Church, the body of Christ made one by the Spirit, we serve in the place the Lord has appointed us with love and unconditionally unite in the gospel and prayer.
》 Prayer Points
4. The Church is united by the gospel of the cross that makes Jesus’ life real in every moment and by prayer that believes and obeys the Word. Let us resolve and pray to join where the gospel is proclaimed and where prayer makes it real, offering ourselves for true unity.
He erected the pillars at the front of the temple, one to the south and one to the north; the one to the south he named Jakin and the one to the north Boaz.(2 Chronicles 3:17,NIV)
[About Authority]
We believe that the reign of the triune God is real, and we wholeheartedly obey every situation regardless of the object of authority that the Lord has allowed and established.
》 Prayer Points
5. Let us move forward in faith, believing that all authority exists to reveal Christ as the Head—and that this is the glory of His body: us. Trust that all authority has been established by God, the ultimate sovereign, and resolve to obey wholeheartedly in every situation out of reverence for Him.
15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. 16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.(Ephesians 4:15–16,NIV)
[About Ownership]
Since we believe that the Lord is the master of all things, we renounce earthly values and choose heavenly ones in every moment. We live as sojourners, sharing our abundance to make up for what others lack, not considering anything we have as our own.
》 Prayer Points
6. The rich Jesus became poor to give us all His abundance. United in that life, let us proclaim that God has sovereignty over everything we have—our wealth, life, knowledge, prayer, talents, and relationships. Let us be a channel to share freely in times of need according to God’s will, making up for what is lacking with our own resources and joyfully building His kingdom.
All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had.(Acts 4:32,NIV)
[About Missions]
We receive the completion of missions as the Lord’s highest command, and we participate in His work of salvation by making that value a reality in every area of life—our time, finances, health, gifts, and relationships—so that the completion of missions may come quickly.
》 Prayer Points
7. Missions began with God and will surely be completed. Let us fix our eyes on the glory of the day the mission is finished and the Lord returns. Let us simplify our lives like soldiers in wartime, offering our time, finances, health, gifts, and relationships to fulfill the mission. Pray that all churches, the body of the Lord, will unite with full strength and advance to complete the mission.
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.(Matthew 24:14,NIV)
