Ch 1. Sins That Undermine the Authority of the Infallible Bible

He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.” (Luke 24:44,NIV)

We believe that the Bible is inspired by God, and that it is entirely true and authoritative. As His only written Word, it is without error in all that it teaches and is the sole, accurate, and infallible rule for faith and practice—free from any flaw or fault. God’s Word is also His power to accomplish His purpose of salvation. The message of the Bible is for all humanity because both Jesus Christ and the divine revelation found in Scripture are unchanging. Through this revelation, the Holy Spirit still speaks today. The Spirit enlightens the hearts of God’s people in every culture, enabling them to see this truth with fresh eyes and making the manifold wisdom of God more fully known throughout the Church.

However, many modern Christians—even among evangelicals—lack a firm conviction in the authority and inerrancy of the Word, often compromising with the world. Instead of grounding their thoughts, values, and worldview in Scripture, many believers are shaped by prevailing culture, popular philosophy, superstition, or local religion. This trend threatens to corrupt and weaken their faith, robbing them of spiritual strength, assurance, and joy—while distracting them with secondary or irrelevant issues.

Paul wrote, “For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 3:11, NIV). Christ Himself established and defined all the essential doctrines of Christianity. He is the Word made flesh (John 1:14), and He affirmed the absolute authority of the written Word (Matthew 5:18). When He rebuked the Pharisees for nullifying Scripture in favor of their traditions, Christ established Sola Scriptura—Scripture alone—as a foundational doctrine (Mark 7:6–9).

Despite Satan’s ongoing attacks, we can be assured that the core doctrines of the Christian faith are unshakable. We must hold tightly to these precious truths, not wavering under public pressure or bowing to cultural demands disguised as “tolerance.” Compromise on essential doctrines is one of the gravest threats to the evangelical church today. As believers in this generation, we are called to be voices of truth, passing on the faith, conviction, and legacy of those who came before us.

》Prayer Points

1. The Bible is the Word of God, His power to save humanity lost in sin. Its revelation is unchanging. Let us give thanks to God, who sovereignly delivered this divinely inspired Scripture into our hands—across time, nations, and languages. Let us also pray that the Church will stand firmly on the foundation of the gospel and become a faithful channel for proclaiming the truth.

》Scripture Prayer

Deuteronomy 6:6–9 (NIV) 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.

2 Timothy 3:14–17 (NIV) 14 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, 15 and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Luke 24:44–48 (NIV) 44 He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.” 45 Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. 46 He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, 47 and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 You are witnesses of these things.

》Pray that the Word may become the Conclusion.

1. One of the greatest problems in modern Christianity is the willingness to compromise the truth of Scripture by accepting worldly ideologies, religions, and cultures instead of acknowledging that the Bible is the one truth that all must believe and follow. As a result, faith in the absolute authority of Scripture has been lost. Let us repent for not believing and living according to the Bible. Let us confess that only Scripture gives us the wisdom that leads to salvation and that it teaches, rebukes, corrects, and trains us in righteousness. May we pray to live as people of God, made complete through the Word.

2. Even within the Church today, some undermine and distort the truth by doubting the authority and infallibility of the Bible, which is God-breathed. Let us pray that the Church boldly proclaims that Scripture is the Word of God and the source of wisdom that leads to salvation. Let us also pray for the next generation to be taught the Bible from an early age, so they may grow to remain in the truth they have learned and become firmly convinced of it.

3. Jesus declared that all Scripture points to Him. He said it testified of His suffering, His resurrection on the third day, and the call to repentance and forgiveness of sins in His name. Let us pray that whenever we read, study, and meditate on the Bible, it would stir hearts to believe in the gospel of the cross and lead to true repentance. May every believer be a witness of Christ, proclaiming the gospel and praying in alignment with God’s Word wherever they are called.
