“So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” (Genesis 1:27,NIV)
God created human beings as male and female. Yet through Adam’s sin, the original design of creation was broken. In recent times, not only is God’s created order denied, but people are even encouraged to decide their own sexual identity.
Peter Beyerhaus, a world-renowned missiologist, former professor at Tübingen University, and speaker at Korea’s 1980 World Evangelization Crusade, warned in his paper “Resist the Gender Ideology!” that the “gender ideology sweeping through European society today is not only atheistic and anti-theistic but satanic.” He urged the Church to firmly oppose it.
Gender ideology, which asserts equality among all people regardless of sex through gender-neutral terminology, has advanced into the 21st century with the movement known as “gender mainstreaming.”
In Korea, gender ideology has even reached the stage of legalization. During the 2017–2018 constitutional revision process, the National Assembly’s Constitutional Amendment Committee proposed inserting the term “gender equality” into the Constitution, explicitly stating that gender equality included “gender identity,” meaning transgenderism. They also proposed deleting “equality between the sexes,” in order to open the way for diverse family systems that include same-sex marriage. Although the amendment process was halted, local governments have been enacting gender equality ordinances, using them as tools to legislate gender ideology.
Concerning attempts to include “sexual orientation and gender identity” as grounds for protection in the proposed Equality Act (Anti-Discrimination Law), Professor Won-Pyung Gill of Handong University, representative of the Alliance for True Equality, warned against the intention to legalize homosexuality through such laws. He further cautioned, “If equality between the sexes is replaced with gender equality, all forms of sexual relationships, including homosexuality, will be allowed, and every union, including same-sex marriage, will be permitted as marriage. Once equality between the sexes is substituted with gender equality, the entire meaning of sex, marriage, family, and home will be transformed, bringing immense social confusion.”
Within just a few decades, powerful international organizations have aligned themselves with gender ideology. Since 1989, the United Nations and its agencies have abandoned the original spirit of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and have become centers that dismantle male and female identity, destroy the order of marriage and family, eliminate sexual morality, and claim abortion as a human right.
The European Union likewise, in its 2000 Charter of Fundamental Rights, defined marriage and family in a way unrelated to the relationship between a man and a woman, thus opening the legal door to same-sex marriage. Furthermore, the EU has pressured its member nations seeking membership to adopt gender equality measures, including recognition of sexual orientation and gender identity through gender mainstreaming, along with the enactment of hate crime laws and anti-discrimination laws.
According to an OECD survey of 38 countries, 14 nations reported that 2.7% of their adult population identified as lesbian, gay, or bisexual (LGB). A 2021 U.S. survey found that 5.6% of Americans identified as sexual minorities (LGBT+, lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender), Reuters reported. Likewise, UK government data showed that the proportion of those identifying as sexual minorities rose from 1.6% in 2016 to 2.2% in 2018, indicating a growing trend.

1. Because of Adam’s sin, the natural life, order, and original design of creation established by God were all broken. Let us pray that this generation, which promotes gender ideology and even seeks to legislate it, will be rebuked by the LORD. May He reveal His truth to those suffering in this chaotic world, and may the original design of creation be restored.

1. Sodom and Gomorrah stood at the brink of God’s judgment because their sin was full. Throughout history, the spread of homosexuality has been a key indicator of moral and social collapse within a society. Let us pray that the LORD will reign over this land and the nations where confusion abounds, dismantling sexual identity and exalting the diversity of sexual orientation, and that the light of His truth will shine upon them.
2. Sinners who turn away from God, unless restrained by the ethics and laws of society, follow the desires of their flesh and hearts, bringing destruction upon themselves. Let us pray against Satan, who incites rebellion against God by breaking His design, stirring up sexual orientation and gender confusion, and attacking the gospel. Let us also cry out for mercy, that the souls trapped in lies, deception, lust, and confusion may be saved.
3. In many countries, gender ideology has advanced under the banner of human rights advocacy and legal protection. Through culture and mass media it is packaged as “true human rights” and “beautiful love,” and even taught in schools, while the harmful realities such as reverse discrimination and the spread of HIV/AIDS are hidden. Let us pray that the Church will rise in this time to proclaim the gospel of the cross to confused souls, serving them in love, so that they may believe the truth and receive salvation.
