The number of Palestinian children forcibly displaced in the West Bank, where recent violence has intensified, has surged more than tenfold compared to the usual level in the first quarter of this year, according to Save the Children.
According to data released on the 8th by Save the Children and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), a total of 685 Palestinian children were forcibly displaced in the West Bank from January to March this year.
This figure represents an increase of more than ten times compared to the average of 63 children recorded during the same period from 2023 to 2025.
In particular, in January alone, about 700 Palestinians—including approximately 350 children—were reported to have been forced to leave their homes.
Ahmad Alhendawi, Regional Director for the Middle East, North Africa, and Eastern Europe at Save the Children, said, “Palestinian children are losing their homes without any protection and are being exposed to various threats and violence,” adding, “An environment where violence, discrimination, and loss have become part of daily life is having a serious impact on both the present and future of children.”(Source: Gospel Prayer News, Edited version)

God, we lift up the children of the West Bank as violence continues to escalate. So many have been driven from their homes, left unprotected and surrounded by danger. Lord, draw near to them and be their refuge. Cover them under Your wings, like a bird shielding its young. Guard them from harm, provide for their needs, and let them know they are not forgotten. Stir Your Church to pray and to act. Move hearts to reach out with compassion and truth, so that these Palestinian children may encounter Your love and be restored to songs of salvation.
