Whoever sows injustice reaps calamity
U.S. law enforcement authorities have recently intensified investigations into a Korea-linked drug trafficking network and Mexican cartels as part of broader efforts to disrupt international narcotics supply chains. The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and federal prosecutors announced that 11 members of a transnational drug trafficking organization were charged for distributing gamma-butyrolactone (GBL) and methamphetamine imported from South Korea throughout the eastern United States.
GBL is commonly used as an industrial solvent, but once ingested, it converts into gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB), commonly known as a “date rape drug.” According to investigators, the organization established shell cosmetic companies in New York and Washington, D.C., using them to import Korean-made GBL disguised as cleaning agents and beauty products. Authorities in both South Korea and the United States carried out large-scale seizures and arrests connected to the operation. U.S. officials described the case as one of the largest GBL seizures ever conducted in the eastern region of the country.
The United States is also increasing pressure on Mexican cartels. The U.S. Department of Justice recently charged local political and law enforcement figures allegedly linked to the Sinaloa Cartel with drug trafficking and weapons-related offenses as part of efforts to dismantle international supply networks. Prosecutors allege that the suspects were involved in the trafficking of fentanyl and methamphetamine into the United States. While the Mexican government has demanded clear evidence supporting the allegations, U.S. authorities have made clear their intention to directly target not only foreign criminal organizations but also individuals connected to them abroad. Strengthen U.S. law enforcement authorities as they humbly depend on You to uproot the global drug supply chains spreading across the world. Speak Your truth to every member of these drug organizations, that the result of their evil is only destruction and judgment, so that they may repent of their sins with fear and trembling before You. Cast out the pride and darkness of Satan rooted in their hearts through the power of the gospel of the cross. No longer let them sow evil and death, but transform them into holy vessels who sow life and hope among the nations.
