According to ChinaAid, leaders of Beijing Zion Church who are being held at the Beihai Detention Center in China have begun receiving Bibles after their attorneys filed an administrative appeal. Pastor Ezra Jin Mingri, the church’s founder, was reportedly the first detainee to receive a Bible, and access has since been granted on a limited basis to several other pastors. Such official permission to bring Bibles into a detention center is considered highly unusual. Since its church building was shut down in 2018, Zion Church has continued to operate and expand through online worship services. In 2025, eighteen members of its leadership team were detained. Despite resistance from authorities, the pastors’ attorneys have continued to challenge restrictions on Bible access through administrative review procedures. Some lawyers involved in these efforts have reportedly faced pressure, including warnings and the suspension of their professional licenses. Meanwhile, Hong Kong journalist Jimmy Lai remains in prolonged solitary confinement on national security charges, and reports indicate that his health has deteriorated.(Source: Gospel Prayer News, Edited version)

God, thank You for opening the way for the detained leaders of Zion Church to receive Your Word. May the Scriptures strengthen and comfort them, keeping their faith steadfast in the midst of suffering. Convict the leaders of China of their misuse of power and lead them to humble themselves before Christ. May they not reject the opportunity You have given them to repent and walk in Your truth. Watch over all who are imprisoned for Your sake. Let the testimony of believers whose lives reflect the reality of Your Word ring throughout China. Through these witnesses, may the church of Jesus Christ flourish all the more as it serves You without compromise.
