“LORD, in the midst of the years, make it revive.”
In the UK, where sharing the gospel has long been difficult, more people are now open to hearing the message of Jesus, and many Christians are stepping up to join evangelism efforts. According to CBN News, street evangelists and evangelical groups have seen a noticeable change in recent months as more British citizens are willing to listen and engage with the gospel.
Evangelists active across the country say the spiritual atmosphere has shifted. One movement, called King’s Army, recently held a march near Buckingham Palace, declaring, “Jesus is the Lord of England.” The group’s founder, Scott McNamara, said he felt a dramatic shift in the spiritual realm during the march. Since then, 20 to 30 people from all over the UK have reached out weekly, asking to join the movement.
Stephen Johnson, a street evangelist who has shared the gospel in London for 10 years, said, “I’ve never seen this kind of hunger for the gospel before. When we started evangelizing, some people came into the chapel wanting to talk. That’s very rare in the UK—and now it keeps happening. Something is changing in people’s hearts.”
This shift is especially noticeable among young people. Johnson said, “In the past, we faced mockery and insults. But now, young people are coming up to us and wanting to have serious conversations. Asking someone on the street, ‘Do you know Jesus?’ isn’t difficult anymore.”
McNamara added, “Revival comes when the church wakes up. A third Great Awakening is near. The church is finally realizing that the mission of this era is to reclaim what the enemy has stolen, and it is starting to act.”
Meanwhile, Christian Today UK reported that church attendance is increasing across the country. Bible sales are rising, more people are returning to church, and even some atheist-leaning political leaders are showing a change in attitude—signs of what many are calling a “quiet revival.”
In another encouraging development, on May 10, the Rushmoor Borough Council in Hampshire withdrew its application for an injunction that would have banned street evangelism. The proposal, made in March 2025, sought to ban Christian evangelists from praying, singing hymns, and sharing the gospel in public areas of Farnborough and Aldershot. But strong opposition from faith groups and Conservative Party lawmakers led to the plan being dropped.(Source: Gospel Prayer Newspaper Edited)
LORD, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, LORD. Repeat them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy. (Habakkuk 3:2,NIV)
God, we thank You with awe and joy for the revival now stirring across the UK, not only among those serving the gospel but also within British society. Thank You for hearing the prayers of the saints who once wept over a land that rebelled against the gospel and for turning hearts to hunger for the truth. Lord, You who began this good work, we ask that You continue it to completion. Let revival come swiftly, bringing all whom You have chosen to Jesus Christ. And through churches that walk in faith and obedience, may Your saving work bear fruit in the UK and throughout the nations until the great mission is fulfilled.
