“They came and saw and found that Jesus is indeed the saviour of the world.”
[Jun.08.2023] This summer, a short-term missionary program targeting the youth in the UK to go out across Europe is attracting attention. According to Christian Today (CT) in the UK, the UK’s Operation Mobilization (OM) recently launched ‘Race Across Europe’, where Christians over the age of 18 share the gospel with those who don’t yet know Jesus across Europe from late June to mid-August.
The project was planned by OM founder, the late missionary George Verwer, who, before he passed away this April, said “in the background of this project was my passion for revival and seeing changed lives.”
He said, “Not only the new believers but also the saints have become lukewarm. I liked seeing young people grow and mature through volunteer work with OM, and that has continued.
Race Across Europe will take Christian youth to cities in 15 countries to attend local churches and work with them to support their communities. During their stay in each city, they also participate in outreach work for refugees and children.
Lara Jenkins, Director of OM UK, said, “This initiative provides young people with an opportunity to gain confidence and be bold in the mission field while challenging them to share the gospel in a variety of new ways.”
It also aims to “help young people to be encouraged and enriched in their faith through interaction with various people”, she added. “By August, this young generation will have the opportunity to grow and see God at work in a culture and context they did not know much about or understand before,” she said.

They said to the woman, “We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Saviour of the world.” (John 4:29, 41-42)
God, we pray that the UK youth will meet God who is at work of evangelism and devote themselves fully to You through this summer program provided by OM UK. May the Holy Spirit work when the gospel is preached throughout the 15 European nations wherever these youth go. May those who come and see Your great work will experience the restoration of their faith through Jesus, the true Savior of the world.
