“Marriage should be honoured by all, and the marriage bed kept pure.”
[Dec.14.2022] A bill was enacted on the 13th (local time) to recognize the effectiveness of same-sex marriage in the United States. President Joe Biden signed the “Marriage Respect Act” at the Southern Lawn, the White House yard. The signing ceremony was attended by Mrs Jill Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, her husband Douglas M. Hope, and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
“It’s a day that the U.S. has taken an important step toward equality, freedom, and justice for all, not part of it,” Biden said. “Marriage is a matter of ‘whom do you love’ and ‘do you love someone’ and is no more complicated than that. The law recognizes that everyone has the right to answer these questions without government interference.”
Following the federal Senate, the Marriage Respect Act, which was passed in the House on the 9th, abolished the Marriage Protection Act 1996, which banned marriage-related federal welfare benefits to same-sex couples.
Not all states are obliged to issue marriage licenses to a same-sex couples. However, those states are prohibited from not recognizing marriage on the grounds of sex, race, or ethnicity if it was done legally in another state. Marriage conducted in states where same-sex marriage is legal, that marriage is recognized throughout the United States thru this new law.
In the United States, the Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage with the 2015 Obergefell v. Hodges ruling. However, as several states still have laws banning same-sex marriage, concerns have been raised that same-sex marriage could be at stake like abortion rights if the conservative Supreme Court overturns its 2015 ruling.

God, pray that You would judge the U.S. Congress and related organizations that interpret the meaning of marriage in a way that is good for their lust and enact the “Marriage Respect Act” that legally guarantees same-sex marriage. Pray that You would destroy Satan’s scheme of distorting the relationship between Christ and the church through the concept of broken marriage, and let the church declare the truth and pray. Pray that people will turn back from sin in fear of God who will judge adultery and lewd conduct in this land and that they may reveal Your word and value marriage.
